Topic: Why is writing important in social communication? Why is impactful writing important in your industry? How does rhetoric play a role in your industry communication? Why is it necessary to create powerful written discourse in your industry?
Writing is important in social communication because it offers us a way to learn about each other on a deeper level. I am sure I will make a dozen or more mistakes while writing this but I still use the knowledge I have to make assumptions about the people I am working with.
Impactful writing is important in my industry because it conveys meaning and establishes trust. I don’t have a lot of creative flexibility in my industry so being succinct is crucial. Rhetoric isn’t generally a factor unless the trust isn’t there. Then again, even in those situations logic is king.
A powerful written discourse is important because my clients and I need to be on the same page when we are discussing business. I need to have a complete understanding of what they are saying and they need the same from me.
